Smartphones are used according to their convenience. But one of the most basic and popular features is calling. When you dial a number using your phone, the user can see who is calling, which is called the Caller ID feature.
However, sometimes you do not want your number to be visible to the caller. We are going to tell you about such a trick which can prove to be effective for you. But it is to be noted that this may not be allowed by the telecom operators in many areas.
To protect your privacy, many network providers allow users to hide their phone numbers when dialling out. Like pop culture “block numbers” or “private numbers” phone calls, hiding your number from Caller ID is possible on both Android and iPhone.
How to block your caller ID when dialling a number from iOS or Android.
- Step 1- Copy the number you want to call without showing your phone number.
- Step 2- Enter an asterisk (*) in the dialer app followed by 67
- Step 3- Now, enter the number you want to call or paste it with your keyboard.
- Step 4- Tap on the Call button to initiate a call. If your operator supports this function, it will not show your phone number on the receiver’s phone.
Block Your Caller ID for All Outgoing Calls on iOS and Android
Typing a vertical service code every time you want to hide your caller ID won’t suffice, but there is another way on Android and iOS smartphones. Users can go to the Phone app on Android, tap the menu icon, and then go to Call Settings and toggle the settings to hide or show the Caller ID.
Apple iPhone users will need to go to the iOS Settings app, tap on the Phone section, tap Show my Caller ID, and turn the toggle off.
