Trial for 5G network across the country will start soon . The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has asked telecom companies operating in the country to test 5G technology in urban areas and rural areas. Bharti Airtel , Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea List 5G have been given spectrum for six months for technology trials.

For 5G trials, telcos have distributed spectrum in the 700 MHz band , 3.3-3.6 GHz (GHz) and 24.25-28.5 GHz bands at various locations . Along with this , the Department of Telecommunications has given permission to Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and C-DOT companies for 5G trials .
The department has not allowed the trial of Chinese companies. According to industry sources, Reliance Jio is working closely with its 5G technology and Samsung Network Gear . However, Samsung and Jio have not commented on the matter.
For 5G trials, DoT has offered spectrum at various locations in Mumbai , Delhi , Kolkata , Bengaluru, Gujarat and Hyderabad . Bharti Airtel 5 and Bangalore G trial in Delhi , Mumbai , Kolkata . Also practice of Reliance Jio 5 and Hyderabad G in Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat .

DoT says that there is speculation about 5G technology that it will get ten times better download speed than 4G . This will also provide three times more spectrum efficiency.
